Notes on dressing, from the house.

  1. Personal styling is what you do with what you already own.

Tips that last are few: know your coloring, edit the closet to what you wear, dress the day you are in, and stop collecting advice.

  2. A wardrobe is built by subtraction, then one considered add.

Start with what you put on without thinking.

  3. Quiet is a wardrobe that does not ask for attention.

A quiet wardrobe is a small set of pieces that agree with your coloring and your days.

  4. A digital wardrobe should dress you, not file you.

A digital wardrobe is a picture of the clothes you own so you can see them together.

  5. The first styling decision is color against skin.

Undertone is the temperature of your skin, not the surface tan.

  6. Dress the hours ahead, not a costume for a word.

The day has a shape: hours that need composure, hours that need ease, hours that move, hours after dark.

  7. “Nothing to wear” is usually a missing role, not an empty rail.

A full closet still fails when there is no bottom for the top, no shoe for the day, or too many almost-right pieces.

  8. A stylist at home is a look for today, not a personality quiz.

You do not need a stranger in a video call to get dressed.
